2 teams have the final coat of water-proof paint applied already and the other 2 are not far behind.

We also started to construct our masts and sails, again using traditional techniques. The 2 halves of the mast were lashed together with rope and the sails will be able to be raised and lowered.

Next, we need to attach the masts to the ships as well as make a keel. We have to make sure this goes in the centre of the hull to keep the ship stable and balanced in the waves.
