As part of our Horrible Histories topic, we visited Barnsley Museum.  We had time to explore the fascinating artefacts and were given the challenge of trying to find the oldest, newest, largest and smallest artefact in the museum.  We found that the oldest artefacts were tools from the Stone Age and the smallest artefacts were the Roman coins.  We also had the opportunity to ask the curator many questions about the museum and about her job.  We learnt that every artefact had a story to tell.
